Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass [1891]

£80.00

Product description

Enjoy both of Lewis Carroll's classic tales in one volume, in this rare edition from 1891. Contains the unusual feature that the final page has a sample reproduction of Carroll's original manuscript.

Hardback volume bound in green cloth: the front cover is printed with an "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" title image, and the back cover is printed with with a "Through the Looking Glass" title image. The cloth fascia of the spine is split down the rear hinge, leaving it hanging loose. Binding is a little loose, but all pages are secure. Front flyleaf is inscribed by a previous owner, dated August 1891. Pages are lightly foxed but still very readable. There is a tear in page 37 / 38 of Through the Looking Glass.

Overall this book is in poor condition, and the price has been adjusted accordingly, but this is still an interesting and rare addition to any Alice collection.
