£25.00

Product description

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland 1922 & Through the Looking Glass and what Alice found there 1927. Two volumes - reading copies only
£25.00 for the pair:

Both books are the small 6 x 4 inch hardback with red cloth covered boards.

Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland. 1922. 201 pages. Outside the covers are grubby with a circular mark on the front. Gilt lettering to the spine and the spine cover is partly detached over the rear hinges. Dedication on ffep dated May 3/24. The binding is loosened but functional. 42 Tenniel illustrations BUT the one concerning the pepper and the bawling child on p 83 has been surrounded by sticky tape which has turned brown, and the picture itself has been coloured in. The tape has discoloured the following page.

Through the Looking Glass and what Alice found there.1927. 229 pages. In a sorry state. Colophon of the Queen on the front. Boards and the red cloth cover in quite good condition but internally the front hinge is completely disrupted between the Dramatis Personae and the Chess board pages. A pair of potentially valuable little books but here in poor condition. Too good to discard, so offered at a knock down price.
