Back to Shtetl contains a number of black and white and colour images from an exhibition based on the renowned An-sky collection of Jewish ethnography. The images are also complemented by a series of specially commissioned articles written in Hebrew. There is an English introduction that includes abstracts of the articles throughout the book.

The book gives a fascinating insight into the culture of Eastern European Jewish history with an excellent selection of images of culturally significant objects.

This book is in in good condition but does have a number of small marks on the front and back cover. There is also a minimal fold on the top right cover around a few millimetres in length.
