This jacketed edition is from series 536.

This book and series are not listed on the catalogue page on the rear endpaper.

The original price of 2/6 is printed on the front flap of the jacket.

There is no tally number.

The boards are buff colour with a drawing of a bird in dark brown print on the front, the back being undecorated. The title is on the spine reading from bottom to top.

On the front of the jacket the tile is in white while on the spine the tile runs from bottom to top.

The Ladybird logo is open wing in blue.

The endpapers are of the brown open wing pattern.

On the verso of the ffe this book is declared as "Seventh edition 1955"

The jacket shows signs of wear around all edges with some small loss at the corners. There are no major tears.

Some shelf-wear along the edges of the boards, the corners are bumped and worn.

The binding and hinges still in good order with no cracking.

There is a large inscription on the front endpaper in ink and another on the verso in pencil.

This item is in good condition for a child's book of this vintage.
