The renovation and conversion of the Castelvecchio, Verona, for use as a museum in 1964 was Carlo Scarpa's most important work. It demonstrates Scarpa's outstanding skills both in overall plan and concept for the renovation of Castelvecchio as a museum, and in every detail of the works as executed.;The author, here traces the initial ideas as represented by Scarpa's beautiful yet incisive sketches, through the various stages of work to building completion. Numerous drawings by Scarpa are supplemented by Murphy's own superb measured line drawings, which accurately show the full realisation of Scarpa's building as it stands today.

RARE First edition by Richard Murphy published by Butterworth Architecture in 1990. Hardback edition with minimal wear and tear on dust cover. Book in very good condition. Contains many colour and black and white photos of the Castelvecchio. Pages are clean, no signs of foxing or discolouration. Binding is tight.
