Volume three of Cassell's Natural History, printed in 1883. This book contains a wealth of knowledge on mammals and birds presented in 27 chapters based on classification. It is illustrated with black and white sketches and anatomical drawings both within the text and full page.

Large format. Dark green boards with gilt lettering. No dust jacket. Slight bumping to the corners and spine. The front hinge is cracked and internally, the book is cracked between pages 180-181. The pages at this point are loose but not detached. Light foxing to front end paper, frontispiece, title page and contents pages. Otherwise the pages are occasionally marked but fairly clean. There are occasional pencil notes in the text.
