Celebrating the Past: Sixty Medieval Manuscripts

£100.00

Product description

This comprehensive catalogue, created by Dr. Jörn Günther Rare Books, presents 60 medieval manuscripts, dating from the 10th century to 1521, collected by Jörn Günther himself, and assembled in this compilation to celebrate his 60th birthday.  Much more than simply 60 books, the work includes many more texts, the finest art, and a treasure trove of knowledge.  The catalogue is arranged in chronological order, and the works are stunning in their beauty, both painterly and calligraphic.  An exceptional catalogue and resource for anyone interested in the subject.

Our book is in new condition, still in its plastic shrink-wrap, and sealed.  Folio size, bound in black cloth with gilt title etc and coloured illustration on front.   More than 270 full-page colour illustrations, texts in English.
