"City State of the Invincible Overlord" - Role-Playing Game Handbook with Two Playing Aid Maps

£40.00 Out Of Stock

Product description

"City State of the Invincible Overlord" was the first published fantasy role-playing game city setting, designed for use with Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), and officially approved for use with D&D from 1976 through 1983. It was published by Judges Guild and later under license by Necromancer Games. It was designed by Bob Bledsaw with the assistance of Bill Owen, and was inspired by Bledsaw's own Dungeons & Dragons campaign. "City State of the Invincible Overlord" was first released at Gen Con IX in August 1976.
This particular edition of the soft-cover handbook was published in 1981. At first glance it seems little more than a pulp magazine, but in reality it contains a wealth of information on the role-playing game, along with colour drawings, allowing you full access to this fascinating swords and sorcery world. Two large (28.5 x 22. 5") identical maps of City State are tucked into the manual, which provide the visual aid necessary for full immersion in the game.
The maps and the book/manual are in good condition, though the front and back covers of the manual are slightly grubby. The text is unmarked.
This is a niche, retro item, and is therefore superb for fans of retro and role-playing games.
