Vol. 1, full title: Cruising Sails and Yachting Tales Being a record of some of the gestes of an illusive personality known sometimes as Jack-all-alone; Sphinx; Diogenes Junior; Nomad; Lady Harvey; Zayda; Undine I and II; Little Windflower; Ideal; Guardian Angel; Psyche; Ubique; Old Hand; and many other pen names - collected and re-written with 3 charts and 40 illustrations. Although indicated as volume 1, it is believed that no further volumes in this series were published. Accounts of the author's sailing voyages, mostly around the east and south coasts of Great Britain, and also across the English Channel, and along stretches of the north and west coasts of France. Red cloth covers with white lettering to the front board and spine. The boards are heavily stained, the rear board having a number of small tears in the cloth. The spine is badly faded, with staining. There is crushing to the head and tail of the spine, with some small nicks in the cloth at the head of the spine. The edges of the boards are worn, and the corners are bumped. The front and rear pastedowns have some red staining (from the boards) in places around the edges, and there is a small piece missing at the upper margin of the front pastedown. There is foxing to the end papers, scattered through the text, and a few spots of foxing to the page edges. The front free end paper has a name, address and a date in ink. The book is tightly bound, and has all three charts present. Quite scarce.
