The autobiography of Dame Sibyl Hathaway (née Collings, formerly Beaumont, 1884-1974), a feudal ruler of the channel island of Sark. Widowed in 1918, she inherited the island from her father in 1927. She remarried in 1929 but remained on Sark with her tenants throughout the five-year German occupation in the Second World War.

Hardback with dust jacket. Jacket has several tears and losses, as photographed. The book itself has yellowed pages and a bookseller’s label on the front pastedown, but is otherwise clean internally, with no notes or inscriptions.
