A delightful children's annual published, we estimate, between 1900 and 1905, edited by famous philanthropist Thomas Barnardo. It contains a variety of short stories and also educational articles such as "All about Centipedes," "Mandalay," "Canada," and "How Wheels are Made". Contains 28 beautiful colour plates, and several black-and-white illustrations within the text.
This beautiful book is in a rather delicate condition. Boards bound at the spine with green cloth; with colour cover-piece. Covers worn around the edges; back cover stained. External hinges are intact, but internal hinges are split, so binding is loose. Front endpaper inscribed "Annie Pope, from Dad, Christmas 1906". End papers stained. Internally, pages are rather tanned, and slightly dirty, but for the most part free from foxing. Final page is partially loose. Large crease in final end paper.
