Dream-Life

£4.99

Product description

'This book is the first major revision of Freud's Theory of Dreams within the framework of the Structural theory. It explores the structure and the functions of dream life as a crucial aspect of the symbolic area of mental life, using the concepts of Melanie Kleine, particularity the concreteness of psychic reality and the spacial structure of the world within the mind. Added to this background is Wilfred Bion's theory of thinking and Ernst Cassirer's Philosophy of symbolic forms as the theoretical basis for exploring the relation to dreams to thought processes, language uses and actions in the world. The implications of this Structural theory for the practice of dream exploration and dream interpretation make up the second part of the book, placing this aspect of psycho-analytical technique and method on a new and firmer foundation.
