Elliott Erwitt's Scotland

£50.00

Product description

taNeues, Krefeld 2018. Condition New. Still in wrapper, unopened and unmarked.

Elliott Erwitt turns his trained eye on Scotland, going well beyond its glens and lochs to reveal a unique culture and national heritage. In 2013, Elliott Erwitt was asked to be a part of the distinguished Macallan Masters of Photography series. Armed with his trusty Leica camera, he embarked on an exploration of Scotland in hopes of capturing its people's particular spirit and allure, calling it his "great Scottish adventure." Going beyond what is simply picturesque, this magnificent collection of photographs candidly reveals both the sum and its parts of the varied landscapes, the characters--and of course, the dogs!--that are unique to Scotland.

Oxfam Bookshop Herne Hill

Situated between the London boroughs of Southwark and Lambeth, Herne Hill first appears on maps as farm and woodland in 1798. The bookshop is located opposite Brockwell Park, home to the beautifully restored Art Deco Lido, originally built in 1937, and well situated for a stroll to Dulwich picture gallery. Also notable are the unique Velodrome, dating back to 1891 and redesigned in 1948 for the Olympic Games, the grade two listed Half Moon Pub boasts a Boxing Gym run by former European and British Champion, Clinton McKenzie and the Carnegie Library, one of over two thousand public libraries built by the Scottish-American businessman and philanthropist, Andrew Carnegie. Prominent among Herne Hill's most famous former residents are John Ruskin, the influential Victorian socialist thinker, art critic, poet and conservationist.
