Printed by R. & R. Clark Ltd, Edinburgh for Macmillan and Co. Ltd, London, 1896. First edn with Hugh Thomson's 39 illustrations. With an Introduction by Austin Dobson. Bound in publisher's original red cloth, the front cover and spine blocked with Art Nouveau design and lettered in gilt, pictorial peacock yellow endpapers, gilt on all 3 edges, headcaps slightly rubbed, spine a little faded, top outer front corner slightly bumped. There are no advertisements or inscriptions.
The frontispiece, tissue and title-page are spotted but the rest of the volume is clean and bright.
