Every Lady Her Own Flower Gardener

£100.00

Product description

Every Lady Her Own Flower Gardener - Louisa Johnson
London: William Orr & Co. Seventh edition 1845. pp136

Rare early edition of title. Brown cloth engraved to front and rear with floral designs. Gilt titles to front, with pretty gilt floral design. The brown covers may once have been green: they show hints of green when the book is tilted.

Spine strip discoloured, the brown staining appears to have worn away, leaving a burnished appearance. Some fraying to tips but overall the corners and edges are very good. Some cracking, noticeably through the front matter but it improves greatly further into the block. Neat pencil signature to fly sheet: E.H. Mann.

All edges gilt - still nice and bright. Pages tanned. Unillustrated, apart from pretty tissue guarded frontispiece and a few line drawings of greenhouses.

Wonder how this unique item ended up online?

Most of the second-hand items you see online have been donated, by supporters like you, to our high street stores. Each item is then priced, photographed and listed on this site by our amazing team of volunteers from across the country.

After you have bought your item, our team of volunteers package and dispatch it from the Shop straight to you or your chosen recipient.

All profits from the sales of our goods go towards funding Oxfam's work around the world. We rely on your donations to sell online so please keep the cycle of goodness going!

Oxfam Bookshop Market Harborough

Oxfam is the UK's largest second hand bookseller. Oxfam bookshops offer a wider selection of books than most shops, from modern fiction and leisure interest to more specialist subjects, classics, and rare or collectable books. We also stock an attractive range of greetings cards and a good selection of stationery. Come and browse!

Could you help us by collecting donations from donors homes? Our shop receives many offers of generous donations that we have to turn down as we do not have volunteers able to collect. We would ask you to collect in your own car, at your convenience and reimburse your petrol costs. It might be a couple of times a month and would make a really big difference to our ability to make money.
