Paste downs with maps of the region (Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Brazil.) Tidy owner signature.
Frontispiece photograph of Percy Fawcett, who disappeared around 1925 while searching for Z, a hypothetical settlement that he believed to exist somewhere just out of reach, and Percy gave his life after four heroic expeditions in the search. The book was written after the event by his son Brian who signed this copy on the title page. It is an arrangement of Percy's manuscripts, logs and records remaining in the family.

Very good block, lightly tanned, no foxing. Strongly bound. Many b/w plates showing life in the region and the fabulous geography

After you have bought your item, our team of volunteers package and dispatch it from the Shop straight to you or your chosen recipient.

All profits from the sales of our goods go towards funding Oxfam's work around the world. We rely on your donations to sell online so please keep the cycle of goodness going!

Oxfam Bookshop Market Harborough

Oxfam is the UK's largest second hand bookseller. Oxfam bookshops offer a wider selection of books than most shops, from modern fiction and leisure interest to more specialist subjects, classics, and rare or collectable books. We also stock an attractive range of greetings cards and a good selection of stationery. Come and browse!

Could you help us by collecting donations from donors homes? Our shop receives many offers of generous donations that we have to turn down as we do not have volunteers able to collect. We would ask you to collect in your own car, at your convenience and reimburse your petrol costs. It might be a couple of times a month and would make a really big difference to our ability to make money.
