£10.00 Out Of Stock

Product description

Publisher: Duckworth and Co, London, 1914, 5th impression, 32 tissue guarded illustrations in photogravure. Hardback, 75 pages. No dustjacket. The cover, in green cloth boards with gilt titling to front and spine, is in generally good, bright condition for its age with a little fading to spine and a little rubbing to edges. Internally the book is in generally fair to good condition for its age with a degree of foxing and tanning to pages and tissue guards commensurate with age. Neat inscription on front endpaper dated Christmas 1914. Some of the tissue guards are creased. Binding is generally firm but illustrations to p 39 and p 46 are loose (and torn) and there is some weakening to hinge at page 49. Significant foxing mark at page 47. Illustrations are generally clean and bright. A fascinating and highly readable life of this great British painter by the great writer G.K Chesterton (perhaps best known now for his Father Brown stories).
