Hampshire houses 1250-1700

£25.00 Out Of Stock

Product description

pp. 275, paperback in good condition with no inscriptions. Block is crisp and tightly bound. Slight bumping to edges, indentations on front cover appear to be where book has been used to rest upon while writing. Cover is clean and marks only show from certain angles.

"Hampshire has a wealth of historic houses that make and important contribution to the appearance of the towns and villages of the county. During the last ten years, the science off dendrochronology, or tree-ring dating, has established dates for over one hundred of these houses. As a result, Hampshire may have more dated historic buildings than any other country. In this new book the dates obtained and the results of extensive documentary research are combined to reveal the development and social context of houses in the country from the earliest survivors of the late 13th century to c.1700. The book will be of interest not just to architectural historians, architects and planners, but also local historians and those with a love of their local environment. It is illustrated with colour photographs and over 200 drawings and black-and-white photographs" (information taken from back cover)
