The book is in very good condition. The binding is sound. Some bumping of the covers and a little grubby. Dedication in black ink, dated August 4, 1911, on the recto of the front free endpaper. Pencil “4/6” on verso of the fly title.
The book contains 29 of Andersen’s fairy tales accompanied by beautifully executed and reproduced illustrations. Many of the best known stories are here, The Little Mermaid, The Ugly Duckling, The Emperor’s New Clothes, etc, as well as the perhaps less well known such as Ole Luk-Oie, Little Ida’s Flowers, The Storks, A Great Sorrow, etc.
