History of the Wars Occasioned by the French Revolution, from the Commencement of Hostilities in 1792, to the End of the Year 1816; Embracing a Complete History of the Revolution. 2 volume set by C H Gifford Esq. Published by W Lewis, London, 1817. Condition Fair, wear commensurate with age. Covers and spines rubbed. Both covers on both volumes are attached but a little loose. The cover of volume one is loose along the whole length of the cover, with volume two it is completely un-stitched at approximately the bottom 3cm. Volume one has an additional buff coloured fly sheet which is detached, volume two does not have this additional fly sheet. Many black and white plates and 5 fold out coloured maps. Marbled front and back boards, leather spines. There are areas of wear and rubbing to the covers on both books (see images). The first few and final few free end pages of each book are quite discoloured and there is some discolouration on the pages within the books that have text. On the whole though the pages with text are quite clean and legible (see images). The black and white images are mostly clear as are the coloured maps. This is a heavy item and can not be shipped overseas.
