A rare 1894 First Edition This copy is in overall, good condition. No dust jacket. The outer green cover is good and tight, with some rubbing, especially to the edges and corners. Previous owner's name in inside cover. The inside pages are very good and clean, with no marks, slightly browned to the edges. A very good, tidy original copy.

The narrative of Mr Edward Carlyon of Ellswether, in the county of Northampton, and late of the Honourable East India Company's Service, comprising his escape from the hand's of the Inquisition at Goa, and his journey to the Court of the Great Mogul, together with 'curious observations on the Manners of the Indians, and on the situation of his Majesty's Subjects at present resident among them'.
