Jade River a History of the Mahurangi by R H Locker

£12.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

Jade River - a History of the Mahurangi River: its story from geologic time, through the millennium of Maori occupation to the arrival of the Europeans settlers in the mid-nineteen century.

Ron Locker's knowledge of and affection for the Mahurangi River went back to the middle years of the twentieth century, nurtured by the beauty of the area - some 40kms north of Auckland, New Zealand - and by his love of sailing. In this book he shares that knowledge and deepens it with the diligent research he undertook in the final years of his life.

This hardback 2001 edition including dustcover is in good condition. The book itself is soundly bound and all the pages are clean and unmarked. The cloth hard covers are clean although the corners of the front cover are very slightly bent. The front and back covers have a small dent at the bottom edge and the front cover has two slight scratches on it. The dustjacket at the front would appear to have had five or six drops of water on it at some stage near the bottom which has left small stains (this can be seen by one of the photos) and it is also a little faded. The corners and edges of the dustjacket are also showing slight signs of wear. Heavy book so can not be posted overseas.
