Le Monde tel qu'il sera by Émile Souvestre publ W Coquebert 1946 1st edition illustrated V Rare

£200.00

Product description

Publisher: W Coquebert, 1946, 1st edition. Hard cover. 324 pages. The leather cover is worn commensurate with age, the spine and top of the front cover are faded and the edges are rubbed but the gilt titling and decoration is still clear. The binding is very firm. Internally the pages are tanned with some foxing commensurate with age but all text is readable and the illustrations remain very clear. No tears, minimal creasing and one neat pencilled inscription, gilt page block edges and marbled endpapers. A fascinating novel; believed to be an important inspiration for most later dystopian fiction.
