Miltons Paradise Lost. With copious notes, explanatory and critical, partly selected from Addison, Bentley, Bowle, Calmet, Callender, Dunster, Gillies, Greenwood, Hume, Heylin, Johnson, Jortin, Lord Monboddo, Newton, Pearce, Richardson,
Stillingfleet, Thyer, Todd, Upton, Warburton, Warton, and partly original. Also a Memoir of his life by James Prendeville
A black hardback book with gilt edging and embossed spine. The boards have signs of wear, commensurate with age with scuffing to the edges. Unfortunately part of the lower embossed section of the spine is missing. The front board and spine has become detached from the body text but could easily be repaired. The rear board remains intact
There is a small owners inscription dated 1869. The pages remain fresh and intact with gold gilt to their edges.
An attractive book
