Moorland Mousie

£19.99

Product description

Moorland Mousie - Golden Gorse.
The life story of a moorland pony.

Country Life Limited. 1944, war economy standard. pp 127.
As war grade books go this is well above average, the paper being little different from more costly grades.
Only the front jacket face remains: rear face and spine have gone. What remains is a badly torn and foxed front face (all titles clearly legible) and the front flap, complete with its unclipped price of 6/-.

Green cloth with stamped red titles. Spine and one third of lower face are sun bleached to a cream colour. Excellent binding structure, foxed end papers and a few spots through the text block. Corners and edges excellent but foxed; block edges tanned and spotted. All pages lightly tanned. A dozen or so charcoal(?) drawings by Lionel Edwards. It is a well bound book with hardy any binding weakness.

Golden Gorse was the pseudonym of Muriel Wace, author of half a dozen equine-centric titles.

Wonder how this unique item ended up online?

Most of the second-hand items you see online have been donated, by supporters like you, to our high street stores. Each item is then priced, photographed and listed on this site by our amazing team of volunteers from across the country.

After you have bought your item, our team of volunteers package and dispatch it from the Shop straight to you or your chosen recipient.

All profits from the sales of our goods go towards funding Oxfam's work around the world. We rely on your donations to sell online so please keep the cycle of goodness going!

Oxfam Bookshop Market Harborough

Oxfam is the UK's largest second hand bookseller. Oxfam bookshops offer a wider selection of books than most shops, from modern fiction and leisure interest to more specialist subjects, classics, and rare or collectable books. We also stock an attractive range of greetings cards and a good selection of stationery. Come and browse!

Could you help us by collecting donations from donors homes? Our shop receives many offers of generous donations that we have to turn down as we do not have volunteers able to collect. We would ask you to collect in your own car, at your convenience and reimburse your petrol costs. It might be a couple of times a month and would make a really big difference to our ability to make money.
