Hardcover with decorated brown cloth. Undated, circa 1900. Eight colour plated listed, all present, including the fold-out colour frontispiece. lxxxii+568 pp., plus advertisements.
Corners and edges rubbed and bumped, with little tears in the cloth at spine ends, cloth with a few small marks. Hinges cracked, with webbing visible, first page torn and creased (but nevertheless complete), title page and colour frontis with vertical crease, a few pages with corner or other creases, colour frontis with previous owner's label on reverse and sellotape mark along right hand edge, all colour illustrations with colours bright, pages tanned, some very light foxing to page and illustration surrounds. When checking through the book we found one further page with a closed tear (approx 5 cm) in the top edge.
