Munthe's Capri : en bildberättelse av Bengt Jangfeldt -Munthe's Capri: a picture story by Bengt Jangfeldt

£7.99

Product description

In focus is Axel Munthe's life on Capri; the excavations and art collection, the construction of Villa San Michele, the construction of the garden, the tram on the island and the frequent visits of the great personalities of the time. Among other things, we get to meet Crown Princess Victoria, Oscar Wilde, Henry James, Ellen Key, Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf, Anders Zorn, a number of Capri; lives as well as Munthes all animals with the babys Billy in the lead. Bengt Jangfeldt's enthusiasm and knowledge of the subject shines through the texts, with a sure hand he leads us back in time and shares interesting facts and curiosities about the mythical doctor and his surroundings. The result is an imaginative picture story that could be Munthe's own.

Swedish language book of photographs with biographical captions. Excellent pages, a little edge and board wear.
