My Life With Goering

£59.99

Product description

This book is in good condition. The dust jacket is present but clipped and has just minor wear and damage (see image). The dust jacket is protected by a plastic cover, which can be removed. The page edges have shelf wear but internally the pages are in very good condition - clean and unmarked.

This is a copy of the 1st edition 1972 David Bruce & Watson Ltd translation.

"This book contains the first fully authentic story of his life as a person yet to have appeared in English. It is written by his widow, Frau Emmy Goering......The virtue, perhaps, more accurately, the quality of Frau Goering's simply-told account of her life with Herman Goering lies in the warmth with which she tells her story : its value lies in the reminder that, essentially, each man must bear his share of the burden of moral responsibility on which all men feed."

Oxfam Bookshop Balham

Balham, or 'The Gateway to the South' as Peter Sellers once called it, is a bustling corner of south west London, situated between Clapham and Tooting. The area is well known for its comedy heritage, thanks in no small part to Sellers's sketch, as well as comedy circuit staple The Bedford Arms and famous residents Arthur Smith, Andy Zaltzman and Richard Herring. The area also hosts something of a literary heritage with DBC Pierre having written his Booker prize-winning first novel in Balham. Our bookshop is located on the busy High Road just down the road from the tube station which was bombed in October 1940, an event immortalised in Ian McEwan's Atonement.
