One Way Of Seeing / Ein Weg Des Sehens by George Dannatt

£7.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

Hardback published in 1990. Binding sound and pages clean and unmarked. 30.5cm x 24.5cm x 1cm. Fourteen paintings and drawings in black and white. Sixteen paintings in colour plate with twenty-nine photographs. 80 pages. There is a previous price in pencil at the top right hand corner of the first free end page. Book does not really appear to have been used or opened and is in virtually as new condition.

In 1981, Dannatt contributed to the exhibition "Kunst aus Cornwall" at Galerie Artica, Cuxhaven, Germany, from 1984 having a series of solo shows there. Then in 1990 that gallery and Hobnob Press, Salisbury, published One Way of Seeing. An elegant monograph, with an appreciative essay by the critic Ilse Cordes, it has a foreword by Dannatt and is illustrated with his land-based photographs and artworks, demonstrating how closely they were allied.

Until he died in 2009, Dannatt remained a prolific exhibitor in mixed and solo shows. "George Dannatt: Four Decades" was at the Osborne Samuel Gallery in London in 2005, with another show there in 2008. A further exhibition, arranged before the artist's death, took place at the Lemon Street Gallery, Truro, in 2010.
