Hardcover. Blue cloth covered boards. Some tanning to front and back covers and spine. Title and author's name on front cover along with an illustration of flora and fauna and 'price one shilling' at the bottom of the cover. Publisher's name and logo on rear board. Tanning to end papers front and rear, top, fore and bottom edges. Bumping to top and bottom of spine. A very slight lean. A little discolouration on some pages. Binding good. An ink stamp on front end paper 'County Borough of Coventry, Local Education Authority, All Saints' School, Infants Department'. Black and white illustration frontispiece showing a boy and girl in Victorian clothes kneeling by a window with a cat. Two pages at rear advertising publisher's books in the Bell's Reading Books series including` Ivanhoe' (abridged) and `Swiss Family Robinson' (abridged).
