Persian women and their creed

£29.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

A classic of cultural history.
Excerpt from Persian Women: And Their Creed
"To any who may read these few pages an apology is due for having, after such a short term of service, only six years, ventured to write at all on a subject of such vast importance as work among Moslem women; a subject which involves so many difficult problems which it is quite impossible for me to solve. Some months ago the call came through a dear wise Christian worker; but I did not want to write, and refused hastily, without consideration or prayer for God s guidance. Three times while on deputation work the request was repeated by others, who said they could not know of the spiritual needs of Persian women, having no book on this subject. Still I resisted; but at the prayer-meeting at the Leopold Rooms, before the C.M.S. Anniversary, I felt I could not really unite in the prayer for more consecration to Gods will and service. He then showed me my self-will, and gave me grace to give it up and determine, should He make the way to use my pen to tell of what He has done and is in a dark Moslem land. "
