Punch, or The London Charivari

£75.00 Out Of Stock

Product description

Seven attractive half-leather editions of the classic satirical magazine Punch. The editions comprise Vols 13-16 (1847-49), Vols 17-20 (1849-51), Vols 21-24 (1851-53), Vols 25-28 (1853-55), Vols 29-32 (1855-57), Vols 33-36 (1857-59) and Vols 37-40 (1859-61). Marbled endpapers and page edges. Some rubbing to spines, with some black stains to the spine of Vols 13-16, and a split to the head of the spine of Vols 37-40. General staining and marks to the green cloth boards. The spine of Vols 33-36 (with front board and ffep attached to it) has become detached. In Vols 17-20, there are closed tears to the upper right corners of pages 203 and 204, with a small portion of the upper right corner of page 204 (including the page number itself) missing. There is some very light foxing to the pages but overall, these volumes are very good for their age. A heavy set which will be sent by courier within the UK.
