Rainbow and Speedy (First Edition)

£19.99

Product description

Esme Hamilton (1912 - 1988) was an Irish/British author. Her writing career included a number of children's novels, all featuring horses and ponies. Three form a series about a mare called Speedy and her foals, and another is also linked to these in terms of the place setting. The books are all set in the author's beloved Ireland.

Synopsis: Speedy is now owned by Oonagh and has three offspring: Rainbow, Rocket and Seafire. When John comes to Moynish to study farming he falls in love with Oonagh and learns to ride Speedy.

The book is illustrated by Lionel Edwards (1878 – 1966) who was a British artist who specialised in painting horses and other aspects of British country life.

The book has its dust jacket which is price clipped. There dust jacket is rubbed at the edges and has a few small tears and a larger tear at the base of the spine. The front free end paper has been neatly excised. There is a loose page with a colour illustration. Otherwise, inside, the pages are clean and the binding is firm.
