Rebel Youth: Karlheinz Weinberger

£150.00

Product description

Rebel Youth: Karlheinz Weinberger

Martynka Wawrzyniak, Patrik Schedler, Bruce Hackney (eds)
Foreward by John Waters
Essay by Guy Trebay

In very good condition. There is minor shelf wear at the spine edges of the hardback cover and a small, 20mm crease in the top fore edge corner of the back cover. Inside, this is a clean copy.

This first-of-its-kind collection presents photographer Karlheinz Weinberger's influential portraits of rebel youth of the sixties. The Swiss amateur photographer left an indelible mark on the fashion world with his decades-long documenting of vibrant rebel youth culture. These working-class teenagers created looks that fused iconic American pop culture imagery; biker jackets, denim jeans, bouffant hairdos, James Dean insouciance; with their own idiosyncratic sensibilities. From the late 1950s through the 1960s, Weinberger captured the defiant glamour of these youths with a keen eye for their provocative handmade designs.
