Alberto Pisa (186 4–1936 was an Italian painter, often painting ruins, landscapes, and garden views in bright watercolour. He completed illustrations for books and journals, and completed a number of watercolours depicting vedute of Rome, Pompeii, and Florence.
Beautifully bound in bright red leather with opulent tooled gilt decoration, 5 spine bands, marbled end papers, and gilt page edges.
In pretty good condition. The covers are a bit faded, and darkened, with some rubbing wear. Particularly noticeable on the spine. Some light foxing, and light yellowing to the pages. The page marker ribbon has become detached. The binding is still firm and the pages are clean.
