SCHOOL OF ROCK/ORANGE COUNTY

£6.99

Product description

Double bill of films featuring comedian Jack Black. 'School of Rock', a rock music spoof directed by Richard Linklater, is about a teacher (?) inspiring his pupils. Music is everything to Dewey Finn (Jack Black), until his self-indulgent antics get him kicked out of the bar band for which he was lead guitarist. But Dewey badly needs some money to pay his rent, and soon finds himself in front of a class of elite school students after pretending to be his supply-teaching roommate, Ned Schneelby (Mike White, who also wrote the script). Going against the school's remit, he is soon teaching his class all he knows about rock (Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, The Who etc). Meanwhile, he has to keep the Principle (Joan Cusack) from finding out what he is up to - as well as all the other teachers and the kids' parents. 'Orange County' is a teen comedy starring Tom Hanks's son Colin Hanks as Shaun, a high school kid desperate to leave behind his mind-numbing life in Southern California, land of surf dudes and affluent ranch-dwelling lifestyles. He has set his heart on studying creative writing at Stanford with acclaimed author Martin Skinner (Kevin Kline), and knows he's bright enough - so when he gets a rejection letter he is furious, and after a bit of detective work realises that his school sent the wrong papers to the university. He then proceeds to enlist the help of his dysfunctional parents (Catherine O'Hara and John Lithgow), his girlfriend Ashley (Schuyler Fisk) and his stoner brother Lance (Jack Black) to set the record straight and enable his escape from his hitherto braindead existence.
