Franz Peter Schubert (1797-1828) was an Austrian composer. He began composing as a child and produced a large body of work during his short life, including over 600 songs, most of which were Leider, setting the work of well-known poets to music.
Ernst Pauer (1826-1905) was an Austrian pianist who lived in England between 1851 and 1896. He was a successful concert pianist in London, and from 1876 was Piano Professor at the Royal College of Music. During his time in Britain he worked on a great number of editions of the piano music of other composers, including Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn and Schumann, as well as several books of instruction in piano playing.
These two volumes are generally in very good condition for their presumed age, although with foxing and yellowing of pages, and a previous owner’s name on the front endpapers.
Due to their weight, these books will be sent by courier.
