Selections from the Commentaries and Homilies of Origen

WAS £8.99 £8.95

Product description

Translations from the religious writings of Origen, a Church Father and one of the most influential figures in early Christianity. Origen founded the Christian school of Caesarea, teaching logic, cosmology and natural history as well as theology. Across the churches of Palestine and Arabia, Origen was regarded as the theological authority. One of the most prolific writers in all of antiquity, Origen was key in the development of the Trinity, allegorical interpretation of the Bible and ideas of universal salvation.

The book is in good condition given its age. The binding is strong and all of the pages appear present, aligned and legible. The cover is faded, especially on the spine, yet is intact and durable. The paper dust jacket is torn at the top, yet retains much of its colour.
