This is a Faber Gallery book 25x30 cms, containing an introduction by RH Wilenski written when the Artist was 60. It contains 10 colour plates, semi-loose of pictures or details of pictures with accompanying notes written by Stanley Spencer.
Good. Softcover first edition in protective sleeve. Colour illustrated and printed cover front and back. 31.2 x 24.8cm. 24 pages. f/c plates of Spencer's work up to 1951 with information provided by him on the meaning and genesis of each work. Intro by R. H. Wilenski who studied Spencer's development from the beginning of his career and was the first critic to draw attention to Spencer's original art. Condition:small tears on cover, but pretty well protected by plastic cover .
