The cover, in grey, blue and red boards with leather corners and spine and gilt titling and decorative gilt bands to spine, is in fair condition for its age with rubbing to boards, especially to edges and along spine, bumping and fraying to corners, fraying to spine extremities and a couple of small tears (with a little loss) to spine cover. A little tanning / staining here and there. Internally, the book is in generally good, sound and tight condition for its age with tight binding and clean parchment quality pages and clear text. Some foxing and staining to endpapers and title page and light tanning and occasional foxing marks throughout and to page block edges commensurate with age. No inscriptions and no significant creases, tears or marks. An impressive 230 year old volume in decent condition, now very scarce.
