£12.00

Product description

Publisher: Seeley and Co Limited, London, 1895, eleventh thousand. Hardback, 257 pages with 24 full page monochrome illustrations from designs by Flaxman and others. Cover, in brown decorative boards with gilt and black titling and decoration to spine and front, is in very good condition commensurate with age with just a little bumping to spine extremities and to corners. Internally the book is in generally good, clean condition for its age with clear and bright text pages and illustrations. Light tanning to pages and a few foxing spots here and there. Binding is gemnerally firm but has weakened at page 144 and page 160 so that the block of pages between are partially loose although still attached by binding thread at top and bottom. Classic stories such as The Story of the Vengeance of Medea, The Death of Hercules, Antigone, Death of Agamemnon, Electra and many others, all illustrated with lovely full page illustrations.
