This is a book of black-and-white photographs by Mojmir Strouhal, taken in the city of Brno in the Czech Republic, with minimal text. There is an introduction by Milena Flodrova and an afterword by Bronislava Gabrielova, both in Czech, English, German, and French. All photo captions are also in all four languages. Brno lies in the central part of Europe, in the Czech Republic, of which it is the second largest city. It is also the center of the province of Moravia, one of the historic lands of the Czech crown. It is situated at the crossroads of ancient trade routes which have joined northern and southern European civilizations for centuries. Includes photos of Capuchin Square, St. Peter and Paul Cathedral, St. Jacob's Church, the Janacez Opera House, and many other notable buildings and landmarks. Strouhal, born in 1929, is known as one of the foremost Czech photographers. Begininning in 1988, he focused mainly on Brno cultural and historical monuments. Unpaginated; about 100 pages.
This copy is in good condition with some small scuffs and marks on the sleeve. There is also a couple of small scratch marks on the back sleeve of the book. There is a pencilled price mark residue on the very last page.
