Studies in Modern Music [Modern Reproduction of 1893 Edition]

£24.99

Product description

An unusual edition. This appears to be a modern high quality reproduction copy of the 1893 edition. Beautifully bound in leather with gilt decoration, 5 spine bands, marbled end papers, with a facsimile of a prize certificate attached to inside cover, on the front cover is a gilt crest of the school. Marbled page edges.

The first section of the book concerns the principles of musical criticism and how it should be undertaken. This is followed by detailed analysis of three composers: Hector Berlioz, Robert Schumann and Richard Wagner. It includes five full page monochrome photographs and a detailed and useful index.

There is some light wear on the cover, however the internal pages are in very good clean condition with a tight binding.
