Andree, Nils Strindberg and Knut Fraenkel written during their balloon expedition to the North Pole in 1897 and discovered on White Island in 1930, together with a complete record of their expedition and discovery. With 103 illustrations and 6 maps, plans and diagrams, including large colour fold-out map at back & 2 other fold-out maps in text.

First English edition. 1931. No dust jacket. Red cloth, gilt titles, spine lightly faded. Area of wear 12 x 1 cm to edge of back board. Pages uncut, pp viii-x and xi-end of Foreword are unopened. Mild foxing throughout. Binding tight.
