Blue boards with gilt embossing on front, spine and back board. Boards have some shelf wear, but is protected by cellophane wrapping. Pages clean and tight with a little yellowing through age, no spotting. Front board cracked at hinge, some browning and a little chip to floral paper, one crack pp70-71, back hinge has a slight crack. Some pencil marking to inner page, title page protected by tissue paper with signature of the author "With the compliments og Geo. S. Wilks, Town Clark, Hythe. 27.7.03".

This is a very unique signed copy of this important local book, concerning the famous Cinque Ports of the English South east coast, of which Hythe is one of the five original founding towns.
