1899 edition of the famous "Mrs Beeton's" an "entirely new edition, revised, corrected and greatly enlarged"; subtitled "...information for the mistress, housekeeper, cook, kitchen maid, butler footman, coachman, valet, parlour maid..." etc. A Victorian cornucopia of recipes and culinary and household advice with many engravings in text and full plate and some coloured plates. Several pages of advertisements at back, of historic interest in themselves.

Green board covers, partly detached to front; spine damaged, heavily repaired and part missing. Part of front lh end paper missing and rh end paper annotated with handwritten recipes. Coloured fold-out frontispiece of "dinner table with floral decorations, arranged for 12 persons"; frontispiece and title page detached. Text complete but some pages foxed and stained, notably to edges. Fair to poor overall condition reflected in price. Because of its weight (1.5 kilos) will incur additional carriage charge.
