£40.00

Product description

The Boy’s Own Annual

Volume 59 1936-37

Robert Harding, ed

The Boy’s Own Paper Office, London.

Hardback; 215 x 280 mm; pictorial unglazed covers; iv & 576 pages; illustrations within text. No dust jacket.
The book is in good condition. The binding is generally sound but there is cracking along the gutter between page 576 and the endpapers. Minor wear to the covers, especially the spine. Page end tanning, and tanning and some foxing of the front and back matter. Some marks here and there internally, and the book was used to press flowers, marking the pages in a couple of places, the remains of which have been removed.

“The Boy's Own Paper” was a British story paper aimed at young and teenage boys, published from 1879 to 1967. The annual contains a range of stories and articles typical of “The Boy’s Own Paper” and the attitudes of the time.
