An unusual and quite rare 1st edition Penguin novel (originally publ in 1911) from this master of horror and supernatural tales, The Centaur belongs more to the world of fantasy, mythology, spirituality and philosophy as it recounts the strange adventures of the mysterious hero O'Malley, a wanderer, self proclaimed outcast, leading the existence of a rolling stone who finds himself 'in a state of perpetual astonishment at the mystery of things'..
