The complete set of four volumes of The Church of England: A History for the People. This special edition set contains a publisher's label stating the edition is specifically for subscribers. Each volume contains a black and white plate covered with tissue, and further illustrations are found inside.
Volume I is entitled:The British and Anglo-Saxon Church and contains a colour foldout map Illustrating Centres of Early Religious Life in Great Britain; volume II: The Medieval Church; volume III: The English Reformation; and volume iv: The Anglican Church.

There is no publication date on any of the volumes, however it could possibly be 1897/8.

Each volume has a pictorial brown hardcover and is in good condition. The pages are well bound with mild foxing and tanning. The boards have light rubbing and corner bumping, and the pages have light tanning.
