The Complete Works of Xenophon

WAS £24.99 £12.49

Product description

The complete works of Xenophon, ancient Greek philosopher and historian, and a student of Socrates, translated into English.

Dark blue cloth boards, with blind stamped front and rear covers, and gilt titling to the spine. The boards are heavily stained and worn. The spine appears to have been recovered, with the re-covering partially worn away, especially at the head and tail. Corners are bumped and worn. The front hinge is starting to split, with some exposed webbing, whilst the rear hinge is fully split and webbing exposed. Endpapers are tanned. Frontispiece, title page and the succeeding pages through to page 9 have some foxing. The page edges are generally grubby, with some foxing to the fore edges which in places has migrated onto page margins. Most of the upper page edges are uncut. There is a small closed tear to the margin of page 51 (not affecting text).
